About this Song
To encounter a pop sound rooted in Indonesia is to encounter a body of work shaped by the specific context that birthed it, a context that infuses every layer of its existence even as it travels to audiences far removed from the land and the creative currents that first brought it into being. Jika Engkau carries that origin at its core, a work that exists not as a generic iteration of its genre, but as a specific, distinct pop sound that bears the mark of the Indonesian creative landscape that fostered it, even as it holds the universal capacity that defines the most enduring pop, the capacity to reach a listener wherever they are, whoever they are, and connect with a part of them that transcends the borders that might otherwise separate people across vast distances.
