About this Song
Jo Soegono, an Indonesian singer-songwriter from Jakarta, blends Brazilian traditional music, particularly samba and Latin jazz, with Indonesian lyrics. His music often incorporates elements of R&B and Contemporary R&B. The song "Kasi Kasi Kasi" reflects his signature style. Soegono's debut album, *Prof Jo*, released in November 2025, expanded on an earlier EP of the same title from 2023. This album features nine songs and explores themes of relationships, life's complexities, and self-reflection, incorporating genres like rock samba, Latin jazz, and bossa nova. A notable track from *Prof Jo* is "Hujan Deras," which gained attention in the Indonesian underground scene for its blend of Latin rhythms and local language. Soegono released the EP *Rasa&Rasa* in May 2026, which includes the song "Kuakan Selalu." He has performed at the Java Jazz Festival in 2026 and is signed to the record label PLP.
