About this Song
R&B, a genre that has grown from its foundational origins to become one of the most widely embraced and iteratively reimagined forms of music across the globe, carries a flexibility that allows creators from every cultural context to infuse their own perspective and heritage into works that fit neatly within its formal umbrella. That flexibility is what allows sounds from creative hubs outside of the genre’s earliest North American origins to not only find an audience within global R&B communities, but to expand the very definition of what the genre can hold, welcoming new layers of cultural resonance that enrich the entire lineage of R&B as a whole.
