About this Song
Indonesian artists Tenxi and Jemsii collaborate on "Bintang 5," a song that brings together their individual approaches to "hipdut," a blend of hip-hop and dangdut music. Tenxi, a rapper from Sidoarjo, East Java, with Javanese and Chinese heritage, developed an interest in hip-hop that led to independent releases such as "Rush In" and "Skip." His debut album, *Bipolar,* was released in 2022, followed by *Puting Beliung* in 2025. Tenxi, whose full name is Tenxi Wijaya, won the AMI Awards in 2025 for Best Rap/Hip-Hop Collaboration and Best Production. Jemsii, a musician, songwriter, and producer from Sukabumi, is known for exploring the "hipdut" sound by blending Indonesian dangdut with hip-hop and R&B. Jemsii's original sounds have been used by over a million TikTok users, and his discography has been featured on Spotify playlists such as Viral 50, Lagi Viral, and Hip-Hop Indo.
