Indonesian rock band Perunggu recorded “Abu” with an array of engineers and producers. Enrico Octaviano engineered the drums, bass, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and vocals, while Petra Sihombing engineered the keyboards and synthesizers. Maul Ibrahim engineered the second electric guitar part. The recording sessions took place across three locations: duapuluhtiga studio in South Jakarta and Gianyar, and Rumah Keluarga Ibrahim in South Tangerang. Octaviano and Sihombing also handled the editing engineering, with Stevano mixing and Harmoko Aguswan mastering the track. The song was written by Adam Adenan, Ildo Hasman, and Maul Ibrahim, who also arranged the music alongside Octaviano and Sihombing.
