About this Song
The lead-up and on-stage energy of a landmark first performance anchors OTW Manggung #6 - Pertama kali main di @RockInCelebes, a sound recording pulled from a 2022 appearance at Rock In Celebes in Makassar, a city located in Indonesia, a country that sustains a sprawling, interconnected network of local music scenes that connect creators and fans across every region of the nation. The performance marked the first time the collective behind the work ever played a show in Makassar, a milestone that carried unique weight for the group as they stepped onto a stage that had welcomed many beloved local and national acts in the years leading up to their own set. To pull off the high-stakes first show in a new city, the group received critical support from Papa Deva, who stepped in to handle drums for the entire performance, turning the jitters of debuting in a new market into a cohesive, joyful set that captured the full passion of the group’s creative work.
