About this Song
NDX A.K.A. brings the distinct creative perspective that defines all their output to Kelingan Mantan, a work rooted in the rich, diverse landscape of Indonesian musical creation that refuses to be contained by the narrow, often Western-centric genre frameworks that shape many mainstream music catalogues. This classification as Music/Other is not a limitation, but a deliberate framing choice to center works that expand the boundaries of what audiences and archivists expect from recorded sound, honoring that creative expression from across the globe often draws on local traditions, hybrid practices, and experimental impulses that do not align with the pre-set genre boxes that have dominated cataloguing systems for decades.
