About this Song
NDX A.K.A. crafts the work Goblok, a sound originating from Indonesia that sits within the expansive, boundary-pushing classification of Music/Other, a category designed to hold space for creative outputs that don’t align neatly with the rigid, often limited genre labels that dominate most music distribution and critical framing. Unlike the more frequently cited pop, rock, hip-hop, or folk categories that come with pre-existing expectations of sound, structure, and cultural context, Music/Other invites listeners to engage with Goblok without the assumptions that come with pre-assigned genre identities, allowing for a kind of unfiltered encounter with the creative choices that shape the work. As an artist rooted in Indonesia’s vast, multifaceted local music ecosystem, NDX A.K.A.
