"Sorai," a 2019 single from Indonesian singer and songwriter Nadin Amizah, is one of three singles she released that year, alongside "—star." and "Seperti Tulang." Amizah, who was born in Bandung, West Java, on May 28, 2000, first gained public recognition by uploading song covers on social media and participating in talent shows. Her breakthrough came in 2017 after collaborating with Dipha Barus on the single "All Good," which received three nominations and won the Best Dance/Electronic Production Work award at the 2017 Anugerah Musik Indonesia. After the success of "All Good," Amizah expressed her intention to release folk music. Her debut solo single, "Rumpang," released on September 14, 2018, won Best Folk/Country/Ballad Production Work and earned her the Best New Artist award at the 2019 Anugerah Musik Indonesia. Amizah has received four Anugerah Musik Indonesia awards from fourteen nominations and an Indonesian Film Festival nomination.
