About This Album

Canadian pop singer Justin Bieber gained fame as a teenager through YouTube, showcasing his self-taught musical talents. Talent manager Scooter Braun discovered him on YouTube in 2008, leading to a record deal and mentorship under Usher. His debut EP, *My World*, released in 2009, featured hit singles like "One Time." The electropop song "Love Me," also containing dance-pop and R&B elements, was released exclusively to iTunes as the first promotional single from *My World* on October 26, 2009. Written by Bruno Mars, Philip Lawrence, Ari Levine, Peter Svensson, and Nina Persson, and produced by DJ Frank E, "Love Me" interpolates the 1996 single "Lovefool" by The Cardigans in its chorus. Critics generally well-received "Love Me," complimenting its electro and club feel and its use of the "Lovefool" sample; it peaked at number twelve in Canada and number thirty-seven in the U.S. The music video for "Love Me," released on August 3, 2010, serves as a tribute to his worldwide fans, thanking them for their support.
