About this Song
Music/Mix as a categorical framing rejects the limitations of narrow genre definitions, inviting listeners to engage with sound that draws from a range of creative traditions, structural approaches, and cultural reference points without being confined to any single established classification. This framing is especially meaningful when positioned within the sprawling, diverse creative landscape of Indonesia, a country whose hundreds of distinct ethnic groups, long histories of cross-cultural exchange, and vibrant community-focused creative scenes have fostered a culture of sonic experimentation that thrives on blending influences rather than policing boundaries between them.
