"Happily" is a pop recording from Indonesia by the English-Irish boy band One Direction. The group formed in London in 2010 on the British singing competition show *The X Factor*, where all five original members—Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson—initially auditioned as solo artists. Guest judge Nicole Scherzinger and long-time judge Simon Cowell both claimed to have conceived the idea of forming the band, with unseen 2022 footage from *The X Factor* confirming Scherzinger's significant role in selecting Horan first, followed by Styles, Tomlinson, Payne, and Malik. Harry Styles named the band One Direction, often abbreviated to 1D. After finishing third in the seventh series of *The X Factor* in 2010, One Direction signed a reported £2 million record deal with Syco Records and with Columbia Records in North America.
