About This Album
Rooted in the rich, interconnected community of Indonesian creative practitioners that centers R&B as a vessel for both personal and cultural storytelling, MARKERS AND SUCH emerges as a distinct addition to the broad, versatile canon of the genre forged within the country’s borders. R&B as a global form has long adapted to the unique cultural contexts of every region it touches, and the Indonesian iteration of the genre, which this album aligns with, carries that same tradition of reimagining and reshaping the core framework of the style to fit the specific needs, perspectives, and creative impulses of the creators who work within it.
