Conceived on May 15, 2002, the collective that would grow to create the pop sound Titik Temu first took shape as an 8-person project rooted in a creative framework its members named Organic Music. The name at the core of the collective, MALIQ, was developed as an intentional acronym standing for Music And Live Instrument Quality, a concept born from the shared vision of brothers Angga and Widi Puradiredja, who laid the early groundwork for every layer of the group’s output from its earliest days. From the project’s inception, Angga took on the role of the group’s vocalist, while Widi stepped into the position of drummer, and the pair expanded their creative contributions to serve as producer, composer, and arranger for all of the collective’s work, tying every creative choice back to the core mission that inspired the group’s name and founding ethos.
