MALIQ & D'Essentials has built their entire creative output around a guiding ethos they first coined as Organic Music, a framework that has shaped every choice of the collective since they officially formed on May 15, 2002. What launched as a project with eight core personnels steering its early creative and operational direction grew into a sustained, intentional musical force, with the name MALIQ itself carrying layered meaning that distills the group’s core priorities: the acronym stands for Music And Live Instrument Quality, a phrase that grew directly from the initial vision of the brothers who first conceived of the collective, Angga and Widi Puradiredja.
