For two years, Indonesian communities faced widespread, cascading harm from the COVID-19 pandemic, a period that upended nearly every layer of daily life across the archipelago. Countless businesses shuttered permanently, leaving millions without steady income, as households struggled to cover basic needs amid a national economic decline that lingered long after the first wave of the virus swept through cities and rural regions alike. It was within this period of prolonged strain that the Indonesian pop recording Rumah Kita took root, created as part of a broader initiative to lift up communities reeling from the pandemic’s fallout. The collaborative project grew out of a partnership between MS Glow, Kece Entertainment, and Trinity Optima Production, with a shared mission to center economic recovery and collective resilience as the nation worked to move past the worst of the public health crisis.
