About this Song
The archipelagic breadth of Indonesia’s creative musical ecosystem has long nurtured works that draw from the hundreds of distinct cultural traditions spread across its thousands of inhabited islands, creating a landscape where blending modes of expression is not an exception but a core part of how sound is shared and experienced with audiences. Lanang Tenan - Live emerges from this ecosystem, classified as Music/Mix to reflect its refusal to adhere to the narrow, rigid genre boundaries that often categorize recorded sound, instead leaning into the freedom of pulling from multiple musical lineages to craft a work that carries the unmediated energy of a live performance, a quality that is explicitly centered in its title.
