About this Song
The convergence of three distinct creative voices, Hindia, Tuantigabelas, and Rubina, unfolds across Selebrisik, a work rooted in the rich, diverse artistic ecosystem of Indonesia that carries the quiet weight of collaborative experimentation, unshackled from the expectations that often dictate how creative output is labeled or framed. Because no single defining thread of popular or niche genre categorization can contain the choices at play in this sound, it exists in a space of unfiltered artistic expression, where the artists are free to lean into their shared connection to their home country’s creative heritage while pushing beyond any boundaries that might constrain their ability to build something that feels entirely their own, something that cannot be lumped in with the dozens of preexisting buckets that most works of music are sorted into the moment they enter the world.
