About this Song
R&B, as a genre that has grown from its early foundational origins to become a truly global creative language, finds a vivid home in the Indonesian landscape that spawned Lantas. Long a form that adapts and evolves as it travels across borders, R&B’s global spread has allowed creators from every corner of the world to take up its flexible framework, infusing it with their own cultural sensibilities while upholding the core throughlines that have made the genre such an enduring, resonant part of musical history. Indonesia’s own music ecosystem, a longstanding hub of creative cross-pollination that draws from centuries of local creative tradition, decades of regional pop exchange across Southeast Asia, and the steady flow of global mainstream sounds that connect creators across continents, has nurtured a thriving community of R&B creators who bring their own distinct perspectives to the genre, reimagining what it can be while honoring the legacy that precedes their work.
