Indonesian hip-hop act Juicy Luicy recorded "Malapetaka" with vocals captured at Sum It! Studio in Jakarta, Indonesia, and drums at BRO's Studio, also in Jakarta. Guitars and bass were recorded in Bandung, Indonesia, at DB Digital Recording, while strings were recorded at AWsome Studio in Jakarta. Faishal M Fasya produced the music for "Malapetaka," which was written by Denis Ligia, Iqbal Siregar, and Faishal M Fasya. Kamga Mo produced the vocals, and Alvin Witarsa composed the strings.
