About this Song
Music that falls under the broad, inclusive umbrella of Music/Other draws together creative works that resist narrow, prescriptive categorization by common mainstream genre labels, centering instead the unique, context-specific creative expression of the artists who craft them, and this sound carries that same spirit of intentional, unboxed creativity that defines the space it occupies. Rooted in Indonesia, a nation whose rich, sprawling musical landscape has long defied the limited set of standard genre categories developed to categorize only a narrow slice of global creative output, Penghuni Hati Yang Tersakiti (feat. Fauzana) is led by credited artist Ipank, whose work joins a long line of Indonesian creators who build on centuries of cross-cultural musical exchange, deep community-rooted creative traditions, and evolving contemporary impulses that keep the country’s artistic output dynamic, unexpected, and impossible to sort into generic pre-set labels.
