About this Song
Indonesian music’s most enduring creative voices turn to a beloved staple of the country’s mainstream canon for the 27th entry in their ongoing Cover with the Singer series, reimagining the iconic D’Masiv track Cinta Ini Membunuhku for a new generation of listeners. The recording pairs the original track’s core creative force, Ryan of D’Masiv, with Ifan, the seasoned vocalist whose decades-long career has left an indelible mark on Indonesia’s independent and mainstream music spaces alike, marking a full-circle collaboration between two artists who have shaped the sound of their home country’s industry for years. Cinta Ini Membunuhku, originally written by Rian Ekky Pradipta and popularized by D’Masiv, has long stood out as one of the band’s most resonant works, a track that has retained its wide cultural traction long after its initial release, making it a fitting centerpiece for a series that pairs established artists to rework career-defining songs that hold personal and cultural weight.
