About this Song
Pop’s evolution as a global, endlessly malleable form has given rise to countless iterations shaped by the specific creative, cultural, and social landscapes that birth them, each carrying threads of both the genre’s widely recognizable core and the unique textures of the place that fostered its creation. That dynamic, which ties global pop’s shared language to the specificity of local creative life, animates Change Is Hard, a sound rooted in Indonesia’s thriving, multifaceted pop scene that draws on decades of work that have turned the country’s creative communities into major, influential contributors to the global pop landscape.
