About this Song
SKINNY anchors itself to the expansive, ever-shifting tapestry of South African pop, a category of creative output that draws from the full breadth of the nation’s cultural, social, and artistic heritage to craft work that resonates both within the country’s borders and far beyond them. South Africa’s pop sphere is not a monolith, nor is it a space that adheres to a single, rigid definition of what pop can be, and SKINNY emerges from that same spirit of unconstrained creativity that defines the best work coming out of the country’s thriving music community.
