Nirina Zubir, born Nirina Raudatul Jannah Zubir, entered the world on March 12, 1980, in Antananarivo, Madagascar, where her father Zubir Amin served as a senior diplomat with the Indonesian Embassy at the time of her birth. A Minangkabau Indonesian who would build a decades-spanning, multi-hyphenate career across entertainment, she first built a foundation outside of the creative industry, graduating from the STIE Perbanas School of Economics before launching her professional path in media. Her first role in entertainment found her working as a radio DJ at MTVonSky, the outlet that would later rebrand to MTV Sky, a gig that quickly opened new doors, leading to her next role as an MTV video jockey, a position that brought her national visibility and set the stage for her transition into the acting career that would make her a household name.
