About this Song
Cobalah Mengerti emerges from Indonesia’s thriving community of creators working within R&B, a genre that has evolved far beyond its foundational origins to become a global creative language that artists across every continent reimagine through their own lived experiences and local creative sensibilities. For creators based in Indonesia, engaging with R&B provides a flexible framework to build work that resonates both with audiences deeply familiar with the genre’s core global conventions and those who engage with it through the lens of Indonesia’s rich, diverse cultural creative landscape, which spans countless regional artistic traditions that inform how creators from the country approach every genre they touch, even as they honor the structural throughlines that make a work recognizable as part of R&B’s expansive global canon.
