Rooted in Kulon Progo, the Special Region of Yogyakarta on Indonesia’s Java island, the group behind this hip-hop recording first introduced themselves as an acoustic dangdut band, bringing their distinct cross-style sound to a landmark 2021 live event captured on the recording KELANGAN - GUYONWATON (LIVE). The performance, recorded alongside a full orchestra for the Lokaswara 2021 series, was part of an intimate concert that bore the full subtitle Sebuah Perjalanan Teruntuk Aku, Kamu dan Dia, staged on December 18 of that year. The entire production was realized as a collaborative project between two core teams: OKA Creativa, the event production collective, and GuyonWaton Official, the group’s own official team that stewarded all creative and logistical elements of the show.
