The Indonesian recording "Illusion" by One Direction arrives from a group that evolved its musical style from teen-friendly pop to incorporate rock, acoustic, and folk influences. Formed in London in 2010 on the British singing competition show *The X Factor*, the English-Irish pop boy band, often shortened to 1D, consisted of Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik until Malik's 2015 departure. The band's debut album, *Up All Night* (2011), made them the first British act to have their debut album top the charts on the Billboard 200, and they became the first band to have their first four albums debut at number one on the Billboard 200. One Direction's musical approach included more mature songwriting and production in later works, with *Midnight Memories* embracing rock and Beatlesque influences, and *Four* experimenting with edgier tones and narrative depth. Their fifth and final album prior to their indefinite hiatus in January 2016 was *Made in the A.M.
