About this Song
The English-Irish pop boy band One Direction, formed in London in 2010, presents "Fool's Gold" from Indonesia. The group, consisting of Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik before Malik's 2015 departure, was signed by Simon Cowell to Syco Records after finishing third on the British singing competition show *The X Factor*. One Direction sold over 70 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling boy bands of all time. Their musical style evolved from teen-friendly pop to include more mature songwriting and production, incorporating rock, acoustic, and folk influences. *Midnight Memories* embraced rock and Beatlesque influences, while *Four* experimented with edgier tones and narrative depth. The group's final studio album, *Made in the A.M.*, highlighted harmonies and lyrical introspection. One Direction went on an indefinite hiatus in January 2016.
