About this Song
The sixteenth track from One Direction's fourth studio album, *Four*, "Act My Age" was written by Julian Bunetta, Ed Drewett, and John Ryan. This recording from Indonesia has a distinct Irish sound, and its lyrics depict the members speaking fondly about a future time when they will meet again and have fun as they used to. One Direction, an English-Irish pop boy band formed in London in 2010, consisted of Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik until Malik's 2015 departure. The band formed on the British singing competition show *The X Factor* in 2010, finishing third but signing with Simon Cowell to Syco Records. One Direction sold over 70 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling boy bands of all time before going on indefinite hiatus in January 2016. Their debut single, "What Makes You Beautiful," was a commercial and international success, reaching number one on the UK singles chart.
