About this Song
The collaborative creative work of Fira Cantika and IRWAN comes together on Bahtera Cinta, a sound rooted in the rich, endlessly diverse creative landscape of Indonesia, where creators across the country’s thousands of islands regularly weave together longstanding cultural traditions, modern experimental sensibilities, and cross-regional creative influences to produce work that defies narrow categorization. This is exactly the kind of work that the Music/Other genre was created to hold, a space for sounds that resist the rigid boundaries of more widely recognized mainstream musical classifications, capturing works that draw from overlapping influences, hybrid creative practices, or niche regional styles that don’t translate easily to the generic genre labels applied to most globally distributed music.
