About this Song
.Feast, the credited artist behind the sound Gugatan Rakyat Semesta, creates from within the rich, expansive creative landscape of Indonesia, a work classified under Music/Other, a categorization that rejects the narrow, often restrictive boxes that mainstream music industry structures use to group and market creative output. This classification does not limit the work’s scope, but rather frees it from the preconceptions that come with assigning any recorded sound to a pre-existing genre, from the assumptions audiences might bring about what a rock, pop, or hip-hop work should sound like to the marketing demands that push artists to conform to generic trends to reach wider audiences.
