About this Song
Isyana Sarasvati, whose creative practice is rooted in her home country of Indonesia, presents Babel, a sound categorized under the exploratory, boundary-defying umbrella of Music/Other, released through Redrose Records. The Music/Other genre classification exists as an intentional space for creative sonic work that resists easy placement into the predefined, widely recognized genre buckets that dominate most mainstream cultural cataloging, a framework that allows artists to share their work without forcing their output to conform to the expectations, assumptions, and limitations that come with being assigned to a more established stylistic category.
