About this Song
Indonesian pop, as a category, encompasses a wide range of creative expressions that center connection with local audiences while leaning into the accessible, widely resonant core that defines pop as a global format, and Buktikan sits firmly within this lineage of Indonesian pop works that carry the distinct creative perspective of creators based in the archipelago. For decades, Indonesian pop has grown beyond its domestic borders, reaching Indonesian communities across Southeast Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, and beyond, creating a global diasporic audience that actively seeks out works from their home country that feel both rooted in the cultural context they carry with them and aligned with the pop sounds they encounter in their adopted regions.
