Adrian Khalif, an Indonesian singer and rapper born in 1992, presents "Cenayang" as a sound from his catalogue. Khalif's musical foundation was shaped by a diplomatic upbringing that exposed him to diverse cities like Geneva, Canberra, New York, and London, broadening his musical interests. His teenage years in New York City were particularly influential, sparking an interest in hip-hop that continues to inform his work. Khalif, who graduated from the University of Indonesia in 2016, signed with E-motion Entertainment and released his debut single, "Made in Jakarta," featuring Dipha Barus, in 2017. This track not only won the Best Hip Hop category at the AMI Awards in 2017 but also accumulated over 1.5 million streams. His early career saw him featured in FHM's September 2017 issue, where he was dubbed "The Next Wonder" in the music industry. Drawing inspiration from Kanye West, Khalif’s musicality is deeply influenced by the hip-hop and R&B scene of New York.
