The Golden 1 Center show scheduled for Thursday night was called off after California Highway Patrol confirmed a big rig hauling equipment for the concert overturned on southbound Interstate 5 near Woodland early that morning. The driver, 66-year-old Jarlath Parkinson of Jackson, South Carolina, did not survive. Parkinson had been driving the truck from Seattle, where J. Cole performed two nights earlier. CHP says the truck drifted onto the shoulder before the driver lost control attempting to return to the roadway, and investigators have not ruled out fatigue or distraction as a factor. Golden 1 Center confirmed the postponement hours later, saying its thoughts are with the crew member's family.
