Cesar Gastelum Mexican Influener Shot Dead During Live Stream in Sinaloa
About this Song
Cesar Gastelum, a popular TikTok influencer, was shot and killed while livestreaming outside a KFC in Culiacan, Sinaloa on Tuesday evening. Cesar Gastelum, known for comedy sketches and live streams, had nearly 600,000 TikTok followers when he was fatally shot around 8 p.m. local time. He and friends were dressed as food delivery workers for a content challenge outside the restaurant in the Tres Ríos area, near the state prosecutor's office. Two individuals on a motorcycle approached the group during the broadcast. Authorities confirmed Gastelum died at the scene and launched a significant security operation involving police and military personnel. The incident occurs amid ongoing violence in Culiacan linked to internal conflict within the Sinaloa Cartel. It recalls the May 2025 killing of beauty influencer Valeria Marquez, who was also shot during a TikTok livestream in Jalisco. Gastelum, 25, built his audience through humor, character bits, music covers and everyday videos. Fans who joined for entertainment instead witnessed a sudden tragedy. The case highlights the growing risks faced by content creators in regions affected by organized crime. Security forces secured the area as investigations continue.
