About this Song
Pop frames Tangerine Boulevard, a work emerging from the Philippines’ thriving music scene that channels the boundary-pushing creative ethos that has made IV OF SPADES one of the most transformative forces in the country’s modern recording landscape. The band carries forward a commitment to the uncommon sounds, styles, and stories that define their discography, rejecting the formulaic structures that often define mainstream pop to weave together threads of retro, funk, rock, and modern OPM, creating work that doesn’t just fit within existing genre lanes, but expands them to welcome new audiences and new perspectives that might otherwise never engage with the breadth of the Philippine music industry’s output. This approach to creation has allowed their entire body of work to resonate across generations, bridging gaps between older listeners who grew up on the archipelago’s mid-century rock and soul scenes, and younger fans who connect with the contemporary edge that underpins every track the band releases.
