About this Song
For artists working across Indonesia’s sprawling archipelago, pop has long been more than a global genre template; it is a malleable, deeply personal medium that can wrap intimate and communal truths into accessible, widely resonant work that travels far beyond the borders of the world’s largest island nation. Yeni Inka, a creator rooted in that rich lineage of Indonesian pop artists who reimagine the genre to carry the specific weight of their cultural context, brings that same sense of purpose and craft to Bukit Berbunga, a sound that fits firmly within the pop sphere while carrying the distinct sense of place that comes from creating work rooted in the diverse, vibrant creative landscape of Indonesia.
