About this Song
Malibu Nights anchors the work of the act credited as LANY, a sound that carries the distinct creative imprint of its origin in the Philippines, a country with a long, vibrant history of artists who shape global audiences’ understanding of contemporary creative expression, drawing from centuries of indigenous, regional, and intercultural artistic traditions that feed into every work that emerges from its borders. For any listener approaching this sound, the core identity of the work begins with its title, a phrase that carries its own quiet weight, inviting each person who engages with it to meet the sound where they are, without prescriptive framing that would limit how the work lands for anyone who brings their own unique experiences to their listening.
