Filipino rapper, singer, and songwriter Gloc-9, born Aristotle Condenuevo Pollisco, began his musical career in the 1990s with the gangsta rap group Death Threat before releasing his 2003 debut solo album, *G9*. Known for his fast-flowing "chopper" vocal style, Gloc-9 is regarded as a trailblazer in the Pinoy Hip-Hop scene and has been described as "a blacksmith of words and letters, and a true Filipino poet" by fellow rapper Francis Magalona. His songs frequently address social issues such as injustice, poverty, and patriotism. Over his 25-year career, Gloc-9 has collaborated with numerous OPM artists, including Francis Magalona, Rico Blanco, and Ebe Dancel. His 2012 collaboration with Ebe Dancel on "Sirena" became a socially relevant hit, addressing LGBTQ+ issues.
