About this Song
Ben&Ben, an indie folk-pop band from the Philippines, formed in 2016 when twin brothers Paolo and Miguel Benjamin Guico started as The Benjamins. By 2017, the group had expanded into a nine-member ensemble, adding Poch Barretto on electric guitar, Jam Villanueva on drums, Agnes Reoma on bass, Patricia Lasaten on keyboards, Toni Muñoz and Andrew de Pano on percussion, and Keifer Cabugao on violin. Their musical style blends indie folk, folk-pop, folk rock, and pop rock, often characterized by anthemic qualities and emotional engagement. The band’s lyrics frequently explore themes of loss, heartbreak, relationships, and the journey toward self-love. Early in their career, Ben&Ben released a self-titled EP in 2016, which included the notable singles "Leaves" and "Kathang Isip." The latter earned them a Myx Music Award nomination and helped them secure Best New Artist or Group at the Aliw Awards.
