From the Philippines, the sound "Binhi" by Arthur Nery is a key track that helped establish the artist's signature style of R&B and neo-soul. Arthur Nery, born Arthur Madrigalejos Nery on January 28, 1997, in Cagayan de Oro, Philippines, is a singer and songwriter known for his smooth, velvety vocal delivery and emotionally rich, open-hearted lyrics. His musical influences include artists like Frank Ocean and Daniel Caesar, and his work frequently incorporates elements of hip-hop, jazz, and electronic music. Nery began writing songs seriously during high school and received formal vocal training as part of a college glee club. Before committing to music full-time, he worked as a call center agent and an online English teacher for Japanese students. His career gained significant momentum after comedian Wacky Kiray heard him perform his original song "Life Puzzle" and introduced him to Kean Cipriano, which led to Nery signing with O/C Records in 2019.
