About this Song
Rooted in the vibrant, continuously evolving pop ecosystem that has grown across the Philippines, the sound UNCHILD sits within a lineage of popular music that draws from both the local creative communities that shape Filipino artistic output and the global pop framework that connects creators and audiences across borders. The classification of this work as pop, tied to its origin in the Philippines, places it alongside a wide range of works that emerge from the archipelago’s thriving creative industries, which have long nurtured creators who work within popular music forms while infusing the distinct perspectives that come from their lived experiences within Filipino communities, both within the country’s borders and across the global Filipino diaspora that stretches across every inhabited continent.
