About this Song
The artist behind the Filipino pop sound Choose builds their work within the long, evolving lineage of pop creators from the Philippines, a community that has redefined what mainstream pop can communicate, while centering the specific cultural context that shapes every creative choice tied to work emerging from the archipelago. Pop as a genre is inherently adaptable, built to serve as a vessel for creators to translate their lived experiences, cultural perspectives, and creative visions into work that resonates with broad audiences, and for creators based in the Philippines, that adaptability has allowed them to reimagine pop to center their own identities, rather than adhering to any narrow, globalized definition of what pop must sound like or communicate.
